Alex Shelly signs with WWE
« on: August 17, 2012, 10:39:15 PM »
Reports are saying Shelly signed with WWE. No wonder he left TNA.

No confirmation as of yet, but it was bound to happen.

WWE ruined the guns :(

Hell of a signing for WWE.  Shelly is damn talented in the ring and on the mic.  He's got that star quality in the way he carries himself.  Plus he's a veteran now and from the accounts I've read has a much more chilled out attitude than he did in the past.  In ROH and TNA his mouth used to get him in a lot of trouble.

With his signing and PAC, as well as all the other top talent they've signed in the last year, WWE are really stockpiling some exciting young talent for the future.

Now, just get them brought up a bit quicker and onto the main shows!

Peace

Hey. It might mean seeing a good chunk of him on the next NXT format...which I'm totally okay with.

Same here buddy.  NXT has been great since they relaunched it.  SO much great young talent on there.

It's probably my second favourite wrestling show after Impact these days.

It's just a nice cut of the nonsense and getting to the in-ring action.

Bray Wyatt and The Ascension have EASILY become my favorites along with Rollins and Hero/Ohno.

WWE definately needs to reign in the nonsense!  I do hope that the extra hour for Raw gives them a chance to build some of these guys up in videos and then debut them...but at the moment it seems Tout is a much more important thing for them to focus on TV, rather than their young talent...

If bray Wyatt was on Raw, I'd tune in to watch him. I absolutely love watching him in the ring and above all his promos. He is sensational

Tout reminds me so much of ICO-PRO from back in the early 90's. The parallels are eerie.

Yep and look how well that turned out!

For once I wish WWE would concentrate on the middle W with as much focus as they do on the shitty E.

Plus they had Tom Arnold as their Tout celeb...Tom Arnold...the sound of a barrel being scraped was deafening.

Anyway, back on topic, I'm keen to see how long it takes before Shelley gets called up to the main roster.  Guys like Rollins and Ono are more than ready.  I'm hoping they get a big influx of new talent in time for the Royal Rumble match.

To me, he's the best thing NXT has got going and I honestly want him there for a while - my fear is that the main roster writing staff would NOT be able to handle the gimmick correctly. At all. Let him shine in NXT for a while longer, IMO, then slowly bring him into the main roster.

With the likes of CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli and the future of Chris Hero, Seth Rollins and Jon Moxley looking so bright, this is probably the best place for Shelley to go... However saying that, apparently Shelley has not joined WWE yet and is scheduled to go back to NJPW soon

It's just amazing how WWE were convinced guys from the indy scene were worthless and didn't know how to work.  Yet hear they are with a developmental system jam packed with the best of the indy scene!

Someone, somewhere in that company might actually get it.

Shelley going to NJPW makes sense as they've brought in a lot more American and Mexican guys for the next tour.

I'm sure he'll get there eventually.

Sam, I think the best thing is the fact three of the top guys in both TNA and WWE are Austin Aries, Bryan Danielson and CM Punk- three indy wrestlers turned superstars.

The indy wrestlers will finally get what they deserve!

Very true man.  Can't wait to speak to Gabe Sapolsky about that.  Get his take on it.

For what it's worth Wrestling Observer are reporting that Shelley is finishing up his schooling and then off to NJPW for the September tour and will then sign for WWE.

There's a lot of uncertainty about WWE signing TNA guys what with the court case that's going on at the moment around Flair and WWE messing with TNA contracted guys.  Not sure if you heard the story but a dude who worked for TNA got a job with WWE and took with him all the TNA talent contract info, when the contracts expired, how much they were getting paid, all that shit.  He then took that to WWE who had it for about a month before telling TNA they had it.  They fired the guy from WWE.

Then for 'some reason' TNA talented started to not renew their contracts.  TNA thinking WWE were using the confidential information accused WWE of illegally approaching their contracted talent and sued.  Flair is the main centre of the case.

I think Shelley's contract expired before the court action was raised, so he's free to move.  Guys like Flair, Matt Morgan, Velvet Sky and whoever else won't be able to join WWE as their contracts expired after the action was raised.

I'm sure it'll all get sorted out though, these wrestling law suits tend to go that way eventually.

Peace
