WWE can keep Wrestlemania; TNA can stick with Bound for Glory; THIS IS E-FEDDING PEOPLE, AND THIS IS THE EXTREME TOURNAMENT 2012!
Every year the Experts come together over the summer for the biggest and best event of the year, the Extreme Tournament, and now it's time to bring to life the 2012 edition. Now every year the Tournament has its own theme of sorts, 2009's exploited the 'Extreme' side of things, 2010 saw us go to Siberia, and 2011 was the comeback tournament across two locations. How do you build on a tournament in 2 locations? You do a tournament in 8 locations, of course! Welcome to the Extreme Tournament 2012... Interfederational and International!
Our aim is to begin roleplaying on June 23rd with a 5-week group stage period, and to spice these five weeks up the location of the tournament will change between the home locations of the five Experts federations, APW, PW, SCW, TFWF and VWF. Each week will see the host fed's commentary team, interview team, arena and authority figures join the Experts for one night only, and who knows, the host federation's competitors may see themselves given a helping hand by their bosses! Come the beginning of August the top 2 members of each group will go forward to the first elimination round (whose location is TBD, and will be revealed in the storylines), and then 8 competitors will move onto Siberia for the quarter-finals and semi-finals, and then culminate in the finals at Legacy Plaza.
So, 'how do we get involved?', I hear you cry. It's simple... SIGN-UPS! They're kicking off today and are open to ANYONE AND EVERYONE. Whether you're a member of the Experts, whether you're not, whether you're somewhere in between (not sure that one exists, but just go with it!) everyone is welcome to get involved with the Extreme Tournament and pit their roleplaying skills against the rest of the world! We're taking on a minimum of 48 and a maximum of 84 (anything over 60 will see us go to 2 shows a week) and we will be using the Experts rankings to determine seeded and unseeded competitors when forming the groups (which will be of 6).
As per every year the tournament is both for bragging rights and the True Expert Championship. However as announced in the previous Experts event, the title (currently held by Jack Benevolence) will be on the line in every round, including the Group Stages, and thus may change hands multiple times throughout the tournament! But of course the biggest part of the tournament is everybody getting together and putting on a great show.
So, all in all I think that's it for now. We will be hopefully running the tournament (if everything goes to plan) from 23rd June with the first group stage roleplaying period, through to August 25th as the deadline for the finals. I would 100% urge everybody to get involved, as those that have taken part previously will attest to, it's a hell of a lot of fun, it's a great way to meet new people and build on your roleplaying skills, as well as just have a good time in e-fedding! Sign-up, get involved, kick back and have a great time
