It's the all-purpose everything thread, FOR EVERYTHING. Except getting AlexK laid, that's impossible.
So, what information do we need? The event will take place in the fictional arena of Legacy Plaza in Hayward, California and will be proceeded over by The Warden of the Siberian Facility (he's now going to basically be the Experts' general manager). Legacy Plaza is basically your average arena, except a little special, maybe like Madison Square Gardens of our fake wrestling business! The Warden's a fair but stern man, probably doesn't need to appear in roleplays but if you'd really like to use him go ahead, just remember he's Russian and used to running a prison -- your creativity can fill in the blanks!
The rest of the card consists of your NPCs in Jim Rushfield and Erika Vanarelli (commentary) and Michael Thunder (CEO) (*Note; Michael Thunder here is a face. Ignore the paradox.), and your one other playable character Larry Smith, the interviewer/ring announcer/shoulder to cry on/buddy to all. Think Todd Grisham with an extra flavour of geek and a surgically-attached microphone.
Roleplay content I'm fairly free on, but remember this is a wrestling show, which basically means people don't go around raping, murdering, performing bank robberies, doing car stunts or dealing Class A drugs. If you want a wellness violation, you may deal Class B drugs. This is optional. Swearing's fine, but remember you don't have tourettes (even you MDK). Using other wrestlers etc. are at your discretion, but of course seek approval/agreement first!
Roleplays graded on:
Selling (20) - Ability to sell the opponents, surroundings, tournament, match etc. See the EFK guides on selling.
Pacing (15) - Is your RP structured well enough to follow clearly? Does it drag on, or does it hit the perfect rhythm?
Character (10) - Does the character really come across in the roleplay and provide their own spin to everything etc.
Spelling/Punctuation (5) - Not as important, but generally good spelling/punctuation is necessary.
As far as word limits go, I would ask for a rough 3,000 word limit. I'm not going to be anal about it or start docking points, but please pity me reading 40 odd rps and having to work out who's eliminated when and by who etc. If that's 40*3,000 words then that's a cool 120,000 I have to read to judge -- if that's 40*4,000 words, that goes to 160,000 and so on. It all adds up and every little helps!
Deadline will be Saturday February 18th 2012 at 23:59 GMT, other timezones will be in the relevant roleplay topics but if you've done Experts events before you know all this. RP boards/topics should be up very soon! It's also ONE roleplay per person.
Apologies on the build-ups going up slowly, but we've had a few technical problems if you've not seen! I'll try and finish them tonight, if not tomorrow, the matches left to be announced are Benevolence vs. Gates, and Team TFWF vs. Team PWR (our dual main events). Speaking of build-ups, they're there for your to reference all you want, to expand upon and make into your own thing, be creative with them as I've tried to blend the vague and detailed sides of them together.
Collaborative roleplays, big thing for this one. I AM going to allow collabs, but I will also try and discourage it at the same time. While I'm sure people want to collab for the elimination matches in particular I'll be basing who gets eliminated when based off the order of roleplays, so of course it then becomes a wee problem if there's 1 rp for the whole team and some need eliminating. If you do go down the collab route I'd ask if that could be followed up with a brief outline of who contributed what so I can at least pick the best character on the team etc.
If you collab that will count as your ONE roleplay (e.g. you can't post your own single rp and then a team rp, it's one or the other). However, you may have say 2 members of the team collab and 3 post individually or whatever.
I think that covers everything, but if you have any questions fire them over here and I'll answer 'em!
