EFK Fit Club
« on: June 20, 2011, 08:29:18 AM »
I'm one of those people that find myself every Monday morning saying "This week i'm going to eat healthy and work out!" only to not have anything to hold me accountable, I don't work out, I eat like crap, and all week say, "next Monday!"

So as I'm about to go for a jog, I thought I would ask if anyone else here has the same problem and if anyone would be interested in doing an online kind of weight watchers or whatever you want to call it deal where we all basically post our fitness goals, what we're doing, how we've done, results, etc. Just something to maybe keep us motivated and accountable?

Just a thought. If there is interest in it, I'm up for it. For now, I'm going to go for a jog that will undoubtedly leave me sore the rest of the day!

So let me know, good idea, bad idea?

I'm exactly the same, I'm unemployed at the moment and pretty have nothing to do throughout the week so i'm getting pretty out of shape, not I was ever in great shape...

For the last few months I've just having one big meal a day late on and pretty much burning nothing. So I keep telling myself to go swimming, running, cycling, whatever, I even have a weight bench, but I don't really know what i'm doing. The only thing I've changed so far is my diet, eating four smaller meals a day and more nutritious stuff instead of quick and easy shit to make.

I'd be down for something like this anyway, I'm 6'5 & around 200 pounds, no idea what my ideal weight is or my BMI whatever the hell that is.

Agreed, this would be a good idea. I'm just coming back from a bad back injury and I'm trying to build up my fitness, hence the purchase of my new baby:

I run. I run a lot. I hate it. It sucks. However in three years I've lost 60lbs.

And I tore my rotator cuff over a year ago so I'm working on lifting again. Despite being a boring math teacher/video gamer/e-fedder, I can't live without working out like 4 or 5 times a week.

If you're having trouble motivating yourself, I'll tell you what helped me. I had a big black guy who told me to man up and do it or he'd kick my ass lol.

I was going to join but considering I had a curry at 4am last night. I'm not sure it'll be the easiest job in the world >_>

Well, I don't know exactly how this will work...so I guess I'll play it by ear.

But I woke up yesterday weighing 205 pounds, was 25% body fat which equates to roughly 50 pounds of fat (yuck!) My goal is to get to 171 pounds with under 8% body fat.

I jogged yesterday, and am off to jog today (which will work as my way of stepping away from the computer before proof reading my RP before I put it up today!)

I'm tracking my calories on livestrong.com, which is pretty convientent if you're trying to watch your diet. Also if you jog, it lets you use googlemaps to create 'loops' that will measure how many calories you burn running certain loops and adjust your intake accoundringly. It's free (but you do get bombarded with offers to buy stuff like the upgraded package.) Pretty cool site for this kidn of stuff if people are interested in it.

In any case I ate well yesterday. Kept my calories at my goal intake. (1500 + what i burned jogging).

I'm up early today, and about to go jog for day two!

I guess for others, respond here with your current situation, your goal, what you plan on doing today, and whether or not you did that yesterday. Then maybe throw in some tips etc you've learned on your own. This thread will be a work in progress so if anyone has any ideas, shout um out and we can try it that way.

www.mapmyrun.com

Find your address, pick your route, and measures how long your run is. I use it often.

I was 225lbs and who knows WTF the body fat % was at that time. I got as low as 155lbs but once my rotator cuff healed and I could start lifting again, I've managed to get back to 170lbs. Body fat % is around 18. That could be lower. I'd like to be around there maybe 175 so it's a matter of maintaining for me I guess because even if I go a week without it, I eat entirely too shitty and will screw up the weight thing lol.
