Q1. What where your thoughts on last week?
Mixed feelings. Obviously we got a big win over Texas, and over both games the team showed the pride and heart that they have been showing for weeks now. I couldn't be more proud of them. That takes care of the positives of the week.
As for the negatives? We dropped a close game against Virginia, and things went downhill from there. The Aces snuck in and signed Stanza for next season, and Coach Hall informed me that it is his intent to try for a Head Coaching position next year, leaving us without the best Assistant Coach in the league. So, for all the strides we have made forward this season, those latest two bits are like a falcoln punch to the gut.
Q2. Would you begrudge Krease if he moved on?
Would I begrudge him? No, that would be the wrong word to use. I would be incredibly disappointed, as I feel that the future is looking incredibly bright for Mississippi.
Q3. How has Ronnie's situation affected you guys?
It's disheartening to say the least. I had approached Ronnie's representation early in the season, and it was indicated that he was looking to deal with contracts at the end of the season. I left it at that, as it is what my player and his representative wanted. Then Dorling sneaks out of left field and signs my player away while I am commuting to the office. I've heard about Dorling's reputation, and it is well deserved. He has made himself yet another enemy due to his unprofessional actions.
Q4. How can the guys be expected to keep up this stamina run?
We are constantly looking for ways to keep they guys refreshed. They had a week off of practice last week for example. We will look again for ways to keep the guys fresh this week, and moving forward.
Q5. Talk us through next week...
The Diamonds and Bells. Same as last week, if we can pull off two wins, we'll be where nobody thought we could be. At .500, and wouldn't that be sweet? Regardless of outcomes, I know that my men will give everything they have, showing the world that nothing can hold down Steamers Pride!
