Got a 5 day mini-vacation coming up.  Going to swap motors in my Valiant, then visiting some family.  Couldn't come at a better time, because work was getting really annoying.  Getting my car back on the road again sure will be nice too.

Posted this on Facebook. We had this picture of a forest hanging in the bathroom forever. I found the same pic online and photoshopped pennywise the clown onto it, and hung it up. When the kids saw it in the morning, they started laughing. Then I went in there and pretended I couldn't see anything, just a forest. At one point had my face 2" from the picture, as if I thought it was behind a tree. They got a little freaked, but they thought the prank was great and now they're plotting on how to get back at me.

"Religion" plays a pretty large role in my life.  Not in the sunday church going, memorizing scripture sort of way.  But in the way I try to live my life, and in the way I see the world and the purpose that we're here.

I believe in Christ, and his teachings.  But I also have read much of Gandhi, and generally just run any religious text I come across through an internal barometer, I guess.  Does this make the world a better place?  Does this spread love and kindness?

I'm not big into black and white rules governing this way, or that.  I also think that history tends to show a pretty consistent trend of politics and culture influencing text.  For example, King _____ says God wanted him to slaughter 5000 people from the tribe of _____.  No, that wasn't God telling the chosen one to do that, that was the King doing whatever he wanted because he was king and nobody could tell him no, and the historians/ministers/etc writing down what he wanted them to.

Thanks judge. I can't mute it on my phone. I like the color scheme, but I do agree about improving the contrast. That, and sticky threads having such a drastic difference in background seems off. Perhaps a different shade of dark blue/grey for those.

The opening post to Chapter 2.

-----

My name is Brian, and I'm posting this from my Dad's phone. Since all this started, he's checked it a million times a day trying to get through to Mom or Grandma or anybody. He never did. Dad took care of us when Mom didn't come home. He told me and my little brother Eric that Mom would be home soon and that we would all be together again but I didn't believe him. When the bad guys came into the house he tried to fight them. Eric was scared, but not me. He hid under his bed crying, and Dad told me to hide too. But I grabbed my little league bat and waited in my room just in case. If they got in my room I was going to kick the shit out of them. Dad got rid of them though, but he got bit. Yesterday, Dad hugged us forever. He said he was going to sleep, and that it was my job to take care of Eric. He said we need to get to Grandma's house. He said to hide if we saw anybody and to run if we couldn't hide. Then he gave me his phone and said to keep trying to call Mom. He told us to run and to never come back home and that we would never see him again. So we ran. I'm twelve years old, and my brother is five. Eric still doesn't understand, but I do. We're never going to see Mom or Dad or Grandma again. It's just us.

I'm the same, Jack.  For me, taking a break from something doesn't help my stress because I know I have to come back to the same situation when I'm done.  Best thing I know how to do is to reduce the problem at hand and the stress goes away on its own.

Really appreciate the feedback guys.  I'm planning out the 2nd chapter of this project, with new characters.  Still ironing out the details and locating a willing source of stock images, then I should have things going again.

One thing I always struggle with is my inability to fix the world and its problems.  It sounds silly, but I really do have a gut reaction to step in and say/do something to fix every little problem out there.  It drives me crazy to see people post crap like that and not want to debunk, or otherwise change their minds.  Probably why I used to get in so many internet fights with people.  It just drives me nuts when I see fallacies and bad logic, that I just HAVE to say something.

One step at a time, I guess.

Well, just finished this project.  I may continue it on in other ways in the future.  But if you've followed this, what did you think?

Mine would be to stop getting a temper when small stuff happens.  When small things happen I get pissed off because I feel like if people stopped and thought for a second, then they could prevent the small things.  And when big things happen I just shrug it off as "shit happens".  So yeah, stop getting so upset about the small things.
